Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Costing Engineer to join our Toy Product Development team. In this role, you will partner closely with customers and internal teams throughout the product development process, providing technical costing expertise, value engineering recommendations, and manufacturing solutions that balance quality, functionality, and cost competitiveness.

You will play a key role in evaluating product designs, establishing accurate cost models, and identifying cost-saving opportunities to support successful product launches in the global toy market.

Key responsibilities

Work closely with customers on product design, material selection, component specifications, and quotation preparation

Analyze, validate, and establish product cost structures covering design, functionality, materials, labor, tooling, and components

Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and comparative analyses, providing recommendations on the most cost-effective manufacturing solutions

Evaluate product designs against customer requirements, manufacturing feasibility, and cost targets

Optimize product designs to improve performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency

Support product development projects by providing cost analysis and value engineering recommendations

Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, and production teams to identify cost reduction opportunities

About you

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical discipline

1-3 years of experience in product costing, manufacturing engineering, quotation, or related functions

Strong analytical and cost modeling skills

Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain operations

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems, knowledge of AutoCAD, Pro-E, Freeform and use of AI is an advantage

Strong communication and customer-facing skills

Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English

Based in Hong Kong with occasional travel to Mainland China as required
