Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Cost Technician - Intermediate to join a gas and electric company in Valparaiso, IN. The role is a 12-month contract to start with potential extensions.

Hybrid work arrangement with some in-office days and flexible home days. The position requires 8+ years of experience and a strong background in cost reporting, forecasting, and contract review. W2 contract, no PTO or benefits, ACA supplemental package available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in project cost control and reporting.
• Experience with cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ability to review contracts and resolve cost discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Establish lines of communications across departments to consolidate cost data.
• Disseminate cost information to support project decisions.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers and staff.
• Monitor and analyze data for accurate project forecasting.
• Assist in annual budget development and reporting.
• Review contracts to ensure proper cost coding and forecasting.
• Develop cost controls guidelines and tools.
• Implement cost preventive actions.
• Prepare standard and special cost reports for stakeholders.
• Provide stakeholders with clear cost reporting and analyses.
• Maintain project cost control data files across life cycle.
• Process timesheets and maintain the Time Sheet database.
• Ensure invoice correctness referencing timesheets and contracts.
• Obtain payment approvals from Project Managers.
• Report results to the Manager of Project Controls and other departments.

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Cost Technician - Intermediate to join a gas and electric company in Valparaiso, IN. This is a 12-month contract to start with the potential for extensions.

Pay:

$33.00 - $43/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Schedule:

The work schedule for the position is hybrid - M/F work from home, T/W/Th in office. Hours can be 7:30-3:30 or 8:00-4:00. Additional in office days are required at end of month and beginning of month

Description:

• Establish lines of communications with various departments to integrate information to facilitate accurate reporting.
• Utilize effective communication processes to disseminate relevant and timely cost information to enhance project decision making.
• Communicate with suppliers, project staff, and other stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies or other cost tracking issues.
• Work with multiple departments to monitor, share and analyze data resulting in more accurate project forecasting.
• Assist in annual budget development, preparation, and associated reporting.
• Assists in contract review with project staff to facilitate understanding of contract and related unit codes/cost to ensure more accurate project cost tracking and forecasting.
• Develop or assist in development of project controls guidelines, standards, processes, job aids and tools.
• Works to implement cost preventive action.
• Perform standard project and special project cost reporting as required by the project stakeholders; compiles and produces cost reports as required and directed.
• Apply proficiency in effective communication and assessing project stakeholders for their core and special cost reporting, cost assessment, and cost analysis needs and provide those stakeholders with optimum communication, information, and reporting."
• Maintain multiple project cost control data files for detailed and summary level information of projects in various stages of the project’s life cycle.
• Process project timesheets and maintain the Time Sheet data base.
• Ensure correctness of submitted invoices by referencing the timesheet data base and conformed contracts.
• Obtain payment approval for invoices from Project Managers.
• Communicate all results and issues to the Manager of Project Controls and other departments within NIPSCO as needed.
• High school & post-secondary education.
• Experience: 8 plus Years
