Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Los Angeles is seeking a Cost Management Analyst for its Graduate Development Program. This two-year program targets recent graduates with up to two years of experience, offering exposure to cost management across capital projects.

You will support in estimating, procurement, contract administration, change management, and cost reporting while developing competencies in capital planning and vendor management.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of industry experience.
• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Support development of comprehensive project estimates, including construction, fees, direct work, and other costs.
• Engage with vendors to review, validate, and challenge cost inputs.
• Utilize benchmark data from previous projects to inform estimate accuracy.
• Advise clients on capital planning strategies across large-scale portfolios.
• Provide insights to optimize investment decisions and long-term financial planning.
• Support procurement activities including vendor prequalification, bid evaluation, and bid leveling.
• Oversee the appointment process in alignment with client objectives.
• Establish and manage cost reporting schedules.
• Present cost reports and forecasts to clients with transparency and accuracy.
• Maintain a commercial risk register and lead periodic reviews with project teams and vendors.
• Assess payment applications and recommend contractor entitlements.
• Review change orders and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
• Monitor end-to-end invoicing processes.
• Benchmark project performance and conduct post-contract reviews.

The route to becoming a professional at Turner & Townsend involves development in various competencies. The Turner & Townsend Graduate Development Program has been designed to provide recent graduates, with less than two years of industry experience, with opportunities to further develop their careers and offer exposure to the services in which we specialize in order to become a successful consultant upon graduation of the program.

The Program is intended to take approximately 2 years in duration, and experience is based upon achievement of various competencies in each core service.

The program is offered atour Los Angeles, CA location.

As a Cost Management Analyst at Turner & Townsend, you will support the delivery of world-class cost management services across a variety of capital projects. You’ll be exposed to capital planning, cost estimating, procurement, contract administration, change management, and reporting - helping clients optimize their investments.

Key Responsibilities:

Support in development of comprehensive project estimates, including construction, fees, direct work, and other associated costs.

Engage with vendors to review, validate, and challenge cost inputs.

Utilize benchmark data from previous projects to inform and assess estimate accuracy

Capital Planning Support

Advise clients on capital planning strategies across large-scale portfolios.

Provide insights to optimize investment decisions and long-term financial planning

Procurement Strategy & Vendor Management

Support procurement activities including vendor prequalification, bid evaluation, and bid leveling.

Facilitate bid interviews and provide final recommendations for vendor selection.

Oversee the appointment process in alignment with client objectives.

Cost Reporting & Forecasting

Establish and manage cost reporting schedules.

Present cost reports and forecasts to clients, ensuring transparency and accuracy.

Maintain a commercial risk register and lead periodic review meetings with project teams and vendors

Cost Control & Change Management

Assess payment applications and recommend contractor entitlements.

Review and evaluate change order requests, providing strategic recommendations to clients.

Apply dispute prevention and resolution procedures to manage payment requisitions and contractual issues.

Monitor and manage the end-to-end invoicing process to ensure timely and accurate payments.

Benchmarking & Performance Analysis

Benchmark project performance against successful commissions to identify areas for improvement.

Manage all aspects of the financial close process, including post-contract audits and account close-outs.

Conduct post-contract reviews with clients to capture lessons learned.

Develop training materials and manuals based on project insights to support continuous improvement.

• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

The salary range for this full-time role is$70,000-$98,000per year.Ranges aredeterminedby role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitablesalary.This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package.Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or lessthan the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
