Job summary

Honda is seeking a project lead in Cost Innovation and Cost Reduction to drive CR activities for SxS/ATV/PE/L&G products, collaborate with purchasing, production and GO, and apply CR ideas to new models.

You will manage preliminary cost planning, define CR targets, and optimize manufacturing processes with suppliers and in-house teams, leveraging CAE and DEB alignment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's or Associate's degree; 2 years’ experience or 6+ years of applied work experience.
• Minimum Experience: 2+ years development experience; 1–3 years development related.
• Other Job-Specific Skills: Understanding of development procedure; CAE principles; strong drawing/layout skills; ability to plan and schedule; multitask and prioritize; strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development for cost innovation and cost reduction initiatives for SxS/ATV/PE/L&G products.
• Collaborate with purchasing, production and GO to meet business cost targets.
• Support New Model Development: Preliminary Cost Planning.
• Based on current model costs, define CR targets and increase added value costs where appropriate.
• Centralize management of CR ideas in a database and advance application to new models.
• Integrate CR ideas with DEB (Developmental Engineering) and apply to mass production to reduce costs.
• Collaborate with suppliers to understand manufacturing processes and optimize drawings for producibility.
• Understand and optimize in-house manufacturing processes and drawing layouts.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:Bachelors or Associates degree 2 years’ experience or 6+ years of applied work experience.

Minimum Experience:Minimun 2 years’ of job related experienceShould have 1-3 years development experience.

Other Job-Specific Skills:Understanding of development procedure.Understanding of SEDB (Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, Purchasing) functions.Competent drawing and layout skills/techniques, include understanding of CAE principles.Competent in creating a plan and schedule.Excellent multi-tasking, prioritizing, and decision-making skills.Ability to positively influence & motivate team members.Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

Majority of time is in office environment.

Physical:

10-15 hours overtime per week possible based on project demands and responsibilities. Occasional weekend work.
