Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Cost Estimator V to support our projects with detailed and accurate cost estimates. The role involves preparing independent cost estimates, reviewing contractor proposals, and participating in negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare independent cost estimates during project planning, design, and construction phases.
2. Review and develop detailed estimates from engineering drawings and conceptual information.
3. Analyze bids from vendors and contractors, and reconcile estimates with third-party data.
4. Assist in change order negotiations and review scope and pricing for fairness and accuracy.
5. Conduct weekly estimate review meetings and document proceedings.
6. Review contract documents, modifications, and scope of work to ensure correctness.
7. Utilize knowledge of construction processes and industry standards for accurate estimation.
8. Proficiently use MS Office, Bluebeam, and project management software.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of estimating experience in engineering and construction projects.
• Strong background in complex estimate reconciliation and negotiations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with multiple projects and working with external agencies.

Additional Information

This position offers a hybrid work schedule with telework on Monday and Friday, and onsite work Tuesday through Thursday.
