Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc is seeking a skilled cost estimator in Panama City, FL for federal construction projects. Responsibilities include developing cost estimates, preparing engineering estimates, and participating in bid negotiations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and at least 5 years of experience on multimillion dollar projects. Benefits include health insurance, retirement savings plans, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects.
• Experience with estimating software (MII, PACES) preferred.
• Certified CCP or CEP or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in bid opening and negotiation meetings.
• Prepare and evaluate engineering estimates.
• Recommend considerations for changes to enhance economy.
• Maintain files of current material prices and equipment costs.

Requirement

Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen

Responsibilities / Duties

• Develops cost estimates based on scopes of work for post-award construction contract changes such as engineering or construction changes
• Participate in bid opening and negotiation meetings
• Prepare, evaluate and review engineering estimates
• Develop cost estimates for projects from feasibility to construction; recommends consideration of changes in plans which may result in greater economy through substitution of materials or simplification of construction
• Maintains files of current material prices and construction equipment costs obtained from quotations by suppliers

Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• 5 years of experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably Department of Defense
• Experience with Micro-Computer Automated Cost Estimating System, Second Generation (MII) estimating software for detail estimates and the current version of Parametric Cost Estimating System (PACES) estimating software, preferred
• Certified CCP or CEP or equivalent through organizations such as AACE, ICEC, PCEA preferred
