Job summary

Qualifications

Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost Manager / Estimator to advance one’s career with a great team and work with prestigious clients on a diverse portfolio of construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provide estimate and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Estimate at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
  • Assist on feasibility studies and write procurement reports.
  • Perform all aspects of procurement, including managing the pre‑qualification stage, producing bid lists and analysis, creating bid reports, and compiling contractual documents.
  • Participate effectively with post‑contract cost variances and the change control processes, referring major changes to line manager when applicable.
  • Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Produce monthly post‑contract cost reports and present them to the client.
  • Provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
  • Maintain liaison with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report such opportunities to the appropriate line manager, utilizing the marketing database.
  • Identify improvements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, and refer ideas to the appropriate line manager.
Qualifications
  • Good technical experience in all cost management areas: pre‑contract, post‑contract and final account.
  • Solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and/or other related computer software.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and a team‑player attitude.
  • Experience in a variety of procurement methods and contract types.
  • Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life‑cycle costing.
Education / Experience
  • Previous experience as a cost estimator of at least 3–5 years in vertical construction.
  • Subject matter expertise in Civil, Structural, or Architectural cost estimation.
  • College degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field with a technical focus.
  • Ability to understand and accurately interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications, contracts, and general conditions) at all levels of design.
  • Expert user of Bluebeam, CostX, or similar industry software.
  • Keen on providing solutions.
  • Solid experience preparing large‑scale cost estimates.
  • Proven track record managing large‑scale projects at a program level.
Salary

Salary range for this full‑time role is $120K–$140K per year. This range represents base salary only and is a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary.
