Job summary

NES Fircroft in Alaska is seeking a Cost Controller to oversee cost allocations, month-end accruals, and forecasting within the oil & gas sector. You will work with engineers and procurement teams to ensure accurate GL coding and spending visibility.

The role requires a university degree in relevant fields, familiarity with unconventional completions, and proficiency with Spotfire, PowerBI, Primavera, Openwells, and SAP. Travel about 5% is expected.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with unconventional horizontal completions and fracturing operations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper allocation of costs within the defined cost structure and correct GL account.
• Manage month-end accruals for work performed.
• Monitor and forecast future spend vs actuals and timing.
• Monitor deviations between Field Estimates and the annual budget.
• Coordinate document management processes for Cost Control.
• Run monthly reports of POs/SOs status.
• Manage SAP FI/CO: actual cost of wells, supplier accounts, WBS budget.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding certification as necessary.
• Track payments to contractors / service providers.
• Participate in audits and manage knowledge transfer of lessons learned.

COST CONTROLLER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure proper allocation of costs within the defined cost structure and correct GL account.
• Manage month-end accruals for work performed
• Monitor and forecast “future forecast spends” versus actual spend amounts and timing
• Monitor deviations between FCTD (Field Estimates) and the annual budget
• Coordinate all activities related to document management process for Cost Control area
• Run monthly reports of the POs/SOs status
• Manage SAP FI/CO: Actual cost of the wells, Suppliers accounts, WBS budget assignment
• Liaise with suppliers in regards of certification process as necessary
• Track payments to contractors / service providers
• Participate in all audit processes: internal, partners, cost recovery that may be performed and manage it effectively
• Compile and transfer lessons learned, best practices and industry standards, by means of the knowledge management methodologies available

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity with unconventional horizontal completions and fracturing operations.
• Skilled at working in a highly collaborative manner with engineers
• University Degree (Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Economics)
• Spotfire, PowerBI, Primavera, Openwells, SAP experience preferred
• travel (5%)

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry
