Job summary

Kearfott Corporation in Pine Brook, NJ is seeking a Cost Accountant to develop cost estimates, assist in negotiations and audits, and calculate monthly accruals and invoicing on contracts. This onsite role supports Contracts, Sales & Engineering with accurate cost data.

Required: Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 1+ year experience, Excel/ERP proficiency; US Citizen. 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off; 401K and Tuition Reimbursement offered.

• Pulls data from multiple computer systems to produce coherent and supportable estimates of present and future costs.
• Complies with government regulations FAR and DFAR as well as company policies.
• Understands cost accounting principles and applies them to contracts.
• Demonstrates business acumen to analyze costing results and reasonableness.

Position Description

This position is responsible for the development of cost estimates, assistance in negotiations and audits, and calculating monthly cost accruals/invoicing on various types of contracts.

Essential Functions

• Supports the quoting activity of the Contracts, Sales & Engineering Groups with cost estimates
• Pulls data from multiple computer systems to produce coherent and supportable estimates of present and future costs
• Complies with government regulations FAR and DFAR as well as company policies
• Understands the difference between standard and actual cost accounting principles
• Has a business acumen, ability to analyze costing results and reasonableness

• Good organizational, data collection and multi-tasking skills
• Tenacious, inquisitive, driven, and a sense of urgency
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ERP Software experience

Education & Experience

• Bachelors' Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1+ years of experience in finance or accounting role, preferred
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
• Must be a US Citizen
