Job summary

IS4S is seeking a cost analyst to evaluate program financial and operational data to track, manage, and reduce expenses associated with running DoW programs.

Responsibilities include cost estimation for government contracts, establishing baselines, and supporting budget and EVM tracking using Cobra. Candidates should understand defense contracts and EVMS, with a focus on reducing costs and improving margins.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating costs for government defense programs.
• Familiar with EVMS and earned value calculations.
• Knowledge of Deltek Cobra or similar project controls.
• Ability to analyze labor, materials, and overhead.

Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation: Calculate time, labor, materials, and overhead for government-contracted defense programs.
• Program Planning: Establish baselines and document in Cobra; support budget/baseline development and tracking.
• Expense Tracking: Monitor spending against budgets; perform EVMS calculations to assess cost and schedule.
• Earned Value: Analyze EV data to evaluate budget performance and support planning.
• Product Disassembly & Pricing: Break down finished items to measure component costs.
• Variance Analysis: Investigate differences between planned and actual costs (materials, labor).
• Cost-Saving Strategies: Recommend operational changes or vendor negotiations to reduce waste and boost margins.
• Reporting: Prepare financial statements, cost reports, and data models for management and customers.

Cost Estimation: Calculate the time, labor,materials, and overhead required for Government-contracted defense programs.

Program Planning: Establish program baselines basedon cost estimation and document program baseline in tools like Deltek Cobra.Support budget and baseline development and tracking for Government-contracteddefense programs by calculating FTE staffing requirements, labor rates, andmaterial costs.

Expense Tracking: Monitor actual spendingagainst budgeted or standard costs to spot financial variances. Performedearned value management (EVM) calculations to assess cost and scheduleperformance for Government contracted defense programs.

Earned Value: Analyzed earned value data toevaluate budget performance and support program financial planning.

Product Disassembly & Pricing: Break downfinished items to measure component costs.

Variance Analysis: Investigate differencesbetween planned costs and actual expenses in areas like materials and labor.

Cost-Saving Strategies: Recommend operationalchanges, vendor negotiations, or process improvements to eliminate waste andboost profit margins.

Reporting: Prepare financial statements, costreports, and data models for company management and customers.
