Job summary

Technical Source in the United States is seeking a Cost Analyst to support the Senior Cost Manager in implementing project cost control processes for major capital projects. This role focuses on collecting, validating, and reporting cost data throughout the design lifecycle and offers growth into broader cost engineering responsibilities within an EPC environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proficient with Excel; familiarity with Power BI and cost management software

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in cost engineering, estimating, project controls, or project accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining project cost reports, forecasts, and trend log.
  • Update budget vs. actuals, commitments, and forecasting data on a routine basis.
  • Support preparation of monthly cost reports, including variance narratives and KPI summaries.
  • Maintain cost coding structures and ensure accurate data entry into cost management system.
  • Track potential changes, design evolution impacts, and scope adjustment.
  • Support the Senior Cost Manager in preparing Change Order documentation.
  • Maintain the change log and ensure changes are reflected in forecast.
  • Assist with cost review of subconsultant and equipment supplier proposal.
  • Validate invoices, pay applications, and commitment tracking.
  • Coordinate with accounting, discipline leads, and procurement to maintain accurate cost data.
  • Maintain organized, auditable cost files and documentation.
  • Utilize project cost systems (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Prism, EcoSys, or similar tools).
  • Support implementation of cost controls processes and continuous improvement initiative.
