Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Senior Cost Accounting Supervisor to join the Kenworth accounting team. The role emphasizes standard cost analysis, month-end close, and financial reporting with 1-2 direct reports, contributing to margin improvements and accurate cost recording.

You will lead cost of sales forecasting, reserve analysis, and internal control adherence while supporting ERP and BI tool initiatives. CPA or advanced certifications are encouraged, and experience in manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA Accounting Degree with Accounting emphasis preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
• CPA or other advanced certifications encouraged.
• Experience utilising SAP or large ERP systems and BI tools such as Tableau/PowerBI.

Responsibilities

• Execute key month end processes and produce monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements.
• Oversee maintenance and updates of standard costs.
• Support timely cost of sales forecasts and variance reviews against actuals.
• Analyze cost related reserves and other balances for accuracy.
• Maintain strong internal controls and support audit requirements.

Position Overview

Kenworth is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our fast-paced accounting team. We are looking for a candidate with strong accounting skills, team leadership and supervisory skills and an eye for detail. As the Sr. Cost Accounting Supervisor, you will play an integral role in the division cost accounting function with a focus on standard margin analysis, month end close execution and financial reporting and forecasting. The position has 1-2 direct reports.

Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Execution of key month end processes
• Be responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting statements/schedules related to margins and/or cost of sales activities
• Oversee the maintenance and update of standard costs
• Assist and support the preparation of timely, accurate and meaningful cost of sales forecasts and subsequent reviews against actuals
• Analyze cost related reserves and other account balances to ensure they are regularly reviewed and properly stated
• Maintenance of a strong internal controls in and support audit requirements
• Support continuous improvement including the use of data analytic tools to identify cost of sales reduction opportunities
• Support growth withing the cost accounting team and broader business operations to drive profitable growth for the Division
• Assist with special projects as assigned, including periodic truck division comparisons, technical accounting research related to new product offerings, system related projects, and ad hoc reporting requests

Skills and Competencies

• Strong computer skills in Excel (i.e., pivot tables, macros, charts, and graphs), Access (i.e., query building, report writing, etc.) and data analytic tools (i.e., Tableau, etc.)
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to communicate complex accounting issues
• Deadline-driven, self-motivated and customer service oriented
• Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and shifting priorities

Required Education and Experience

• BS/BA Accounting Degree with Accounting emphasis preferred
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with increasing responsibility

The salary range for the Senior Cost Accounting Manager is $84,000 - $131,700 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
