Job summary

Risus Talent Partners LLC is seeking an experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join the corporate finance team. This senior, hands-on role partners with manufacturing operations to standardize costing across facilities and drive process improvements.

Travel to sites is expected, especially during the initial six months, with no direct reports but strong cross-functional collaboration. You will develop standard costing methodologies, analyze variances, and support ERP and financial reporting

Qualifications

• 7+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, labor and overhead rates, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• Experience partnering with plant leadership and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve cost accounting processes across multiple plants.
• Develop and maintain standard costing methodologies for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze costs, inventory valuation, COGS, gross margins, and variances.
• Ensure accurate cost accounting and cost flow into the general ledger.
• Partner with plant leadership to understand production processes and opportunities.
• Support integration of acquired businesses and standardize costing practices.
• Document processes and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with corporate finance and cost accounting consultant on system enhancements.
• Support ERP improvements, financial reporting, internal controls, and audits.
• Travel to manufacturing locations to implement costing practices.
