Job summary

Columbia Helicopters is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to drive cost data accuracy for manufacturing, supply chain, and aftermarket operations. You will partner with operations and finance leaders to improve margins, inventory integrity, and continuous improvement.

The role requires at least 5 years of manufacturing accounting experience and expertise with US Govt cost proposals. You will analyze costs, lead standard cost setups, and support audits while mentoring others on the cost accounting

Qualifications

  • 5 years prior manufacturing accounting/finance experience
  • Experience with US Govt cost based proposals required
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Adaptability to manage multiple and varied tasks
  • Ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional communication, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills are essential.
  • Must be a U.S. Person

Responsibilities

  • Own product and inventory costing, including standard costs, PPV analysis, absorption, and margin reporting
  • Lead standard cost setup and annual cost roll for new and existing parts
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through reconciliations, cycle counts, and root‑cause analysis
  • Support month‑end close with journal entries, cost reporting, and account reconciliations
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to manufacturing leaders to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Maintain integrity of cost data within the ERP system and support system/process improvements
  • Assist with internal, external, SOX, and government audits
  • Mentor or support other cost accounting team members as needed

The Cost Accountant - Senior plays a key role in providing accurate, actionable cost data to support manufacturing, supply chain, and aftermarket operations. What you will do
