Job summary

Akash Systems, Inc. in the Bay Area seeks a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join the finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance. This hands-on role covers cost modeling, inventory costing, GAAP financial accounting, and investor reporting.

You will own QuickBooks administration, support month-end close, and coordinate with operations, procurement, and accounting to ensure accurate cost data and timely financial statements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in cost accounting and financial/general accounting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and GAAP, with strong Excel modeling skills.
• Experience with cost modeling, inventory costing, and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and refine average cost models for all products, including materials, labor, overhead, and other costs.
• Record and reconcile all financial transactions, perform month-end close, and prepare COGS analyses.
• Own QuickBooks environment, ensure COA accuracy, and support investor reporting and audits.
• Prepare pricing analyses and profitability reports for new and existing products.
