Job summary

Occidental Management, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Cost Accountant to support Pinnacle Aerospace at the Wellington facility in Wellington, KS.

The role focuses on cost accounting, month-end close support, and customer billing in a machine-hour based environment. The candidate will configure and maintain Epicor or similar ERP/MRP modules, manage cost data accuracy, and assist with budgeting and reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, machine hour or standard costing background required.
• Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and reporting within Epicor or a comparable ERP/MRP system as one of the people responsible for the system, not solely as an end user.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, job costing, and month end close processes.
• High attention to detail and comfort taking ownership of system data accuracy.
• Advanced Excel skills, pivot tables, XLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH, and SUMIFS, along with the ability to build and maintain cost and rate models from large ERP data exports.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and apply overhead absorption based on machine hours, and reconcile job and work order costs across material, machine hours, and overhead.
• Value work in process and finished goods inventory each month.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot ERP/MRP cost accounting modules, including machine hour rates and routing data.
• Prepare and post journal entries, and reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements.
• Generate customer invoices and progress billings, apply cash receipts, and monitor accounts receivable aging.
• Maintain the fixed asset ledger and depreciation schedules, and perform cycle counts to reconcile inventory variances.
• Reconcile labor and machine hour data feeding job costs, and serve as backup for payroll processing.
• Support annual budget preparation and monthly budget versus actual variance reporting.
• Prepare preliminary monthly financial statements ahead of CFO review.
• Document and continuously improve cost accounting processes and ERP data accuracy.

About The Role

Occidental Management, Inc is hiring a Manufacturing Cost Accountant to support one of our affiliated aerospace manufacturing entities, Pinnacle Aerospace. This position reports to work on site at the Pinnacle facility in Wellington, KS.This newly created role owns cost accounting, month-end close support, and customer billing within a machine hour based manufacturing environment, and serves as the go-to resource for configuring, troubleshooting, and reporting within Epicor or a comparable ERP/MRP system. We are searching for candidates who have cost accounting work experience and have managed and maintained an accounting system within a manufacturing environment.
