Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Leeds, AL seeks a Cost Accountant to support monthly close, standard cost maintenance and inventory controls. This role reports to the Cost Manager within the Finance team and drives cost analysis and reporting across manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities include variance analysis, BOM/Routing costing in SAP, internal control compliance, and assisting with budgets and audits. Strong Excel, Word skills and SAP experience are valued.

Qualifications

  • Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word; SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly closing and reporting process, using financial reporting systems.
  • Working with Bill of Materials and Product Routings through SAP system.
  • Assist in monthly variance analysis including, but not limited to, PPV, freight, material usage, production order, labor, and burden (overhead) variances.
  • Verify compliance with internal controls, including SOX compliance.
  • Reviewing, analyzing and updating standard product costs as they relate to labor, material and overhead.
  • Assist in cycle counts and physical inventories and reconcile all differences.
  • Assisting with department spending analysis and facility budgets and forecasts.
  • Support for internal and external audit activities.
  • Complete ad hoc financial information requests.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

Job Overview

Based in Leeds, AL and reporting directly to the Cost Manager, the Cost Accountant will serve as a key member ofthe Finance team and have responsibility for a variety costing and inventory activities. This position is principallyresponsible for the ongoing maintenance of standard costs, month end closing activities, reporting and controls.

A Day In The Life
  • Monthly closing and reporting process, using financial reporting systems.
  • Working with Bill of Materials and Product Routings through SAP system.
