The role focuses on applying accounting principles to compile, depict, and process financial information for construction projects, with emphasis on payroll, subcontracts, materials, and overheads. The position supports forecasts, profit and loss statements, and monthly close processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of construction accounting experience.
• Experience in a heavy/civil construction environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and analyzes data related to payroll, subcontracts, permanent materials, and overheads.
• Assist in generating financial forecasts for project revenue, margin, and cash flow.
• Contributes to preparation of profit and loss statements and accounting reports.
• Prepare journal entries and assist in monthly closing of the general ledger.
• Maintain data accuracy and document transactions; support internal control procedures.

This role is on-site and requires working from the regional office.

Responsibilities:

This full-time exempt level finance position is responsible for applying accounting principles to compile, depict, and process information. Provides financial insight, prepares relevant reports, maintains, and readies business and financial transactions; all while working in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.

• Assembles, accounts for, and assists with analyzing data related to payroll, equipment, subcontracts, permanent materials, and overheads.


• Assist in the generation and analysis of financial forecasts including construction projectrevenue, margin, and cash flow.


• Contributes to the preparation of profit and loss statements, and accounting reports.


• Prepares and enters accounting journal entries and assists in the monthly closing process of the general ledger.


• Interprets the meaning of accounting and financial documents.


• Documents transactions and summarizes information.


• Modifies, maintains, or creates procedural documentation.


• Participates in reconciliations and in maintaining data accuracy.


• May audit contracts, orders, vouchers, and prepare reports to corroborate transactions prior to settlement.


• May assist construction managers, project managers, and estimators with information requests and perform special projects as assigned.


• Maintains awareness of accounting best practices and of internal control procedures while assisting in the coordination and monitoring of compliance.


• Assists team in other ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as necessary.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field


• 3+ years of construction accounting experience


• Experience in a heavy/civil construction environment is a plus


• Familiarity with multiple software including CMIC & Microsoft Office
