Job summary

OSI Group is seeking a cost accountant/analyst to manage costing, budgeting, and ERP-based financial analysis within a manufacturing environment. You will develop cost standards, evaluate profitability of new products, and support monthly closings and financial reporting.

The role requires strong proficiency in Excel, SAP/SAP Hana, and Power BI, with ability to analyze data, communicate insights, and work across teams in a fast-paced plant setting.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS or equivalent degree preferred.
  • Finance or Accounting background preferred.
  • Experience with ERP and costing systems is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain pricing files weekly, monthly and quarterly, and upload to ERP as needed.
  • Prepare production reports including P&L, labor hours, yields and cost savings vs. plan.
  • Conduct costing analyses for new products to determine profitability.
  • Track and reconcile inventory flow in ERP; perform cycle counts.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and support costing runs with ERP data.
  • Assist in annual budgeting and monthly/yr-to-date analysis for management.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for creating data analysis and tracking tools as it relates to operations including labor, yields, material usage and overhead. Manage and maintain cost standards and BOM’s.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly pricing files, uploading information to ERP system, as necessary.
  • Prepare daily and weekly production reports to include profit and loss statements, labor hour analysis, yields and cost savings progress against plan.
  • Collect data and conduct analysis to develop costing profiles for new products to determine production viability and profitability.
  • Participate in a variety of audits, including financial and inventory, by collecting required documentation, performing physical counts, and other activities as directed.
  • Track the flow of inventory through the ERP system. Work with manufacturing to ensure cycle counts are accurate and reconciliations of staging areas are complete.
  • Maintain and develop ERP system costing for customer products.
  • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate monthly closing. Prepare all standard month-end journal entries and review all costing runs, and work closely with corporate ERP system team to validate system data.
  • Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and prepare ongoing monthly and year-to-date budget analysis for management review, analysis and decision making.
  • Provide budget product cost review/analysis support.
  • Produce various weekly/period/quarterly analysis and variance reports for Plant Management review.
  • Demonstrate Lean thinking and participate in facility problem solving.
  • Daily Finished goods monitoring, cases discrepancy reconciliation and process order confirmations
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations, reports, and memos utilizing full knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Review invoices for accuracy, prepare check requests or purchase orders manually or through financial system as appropriate; obtain approvals and ensure timely payment.
  • Prepare month end general accruals and account reconciliations and perform a variety of other routine accounting tasks that support forecasting, budgeting, and internal control activities.
  • This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experiences & Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in related field is preferred.
  • Experience of manufacturing cost systems.
  • Auditing in a Manufacturing Environment preferred.
  • Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products. Strong Excel experience including pivot tables preferred. Experience with Power BI or other data tool is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient knowledge of ERP systems (we use SAP and moving to SAP Hana)
  • Proficient knowledge of cost accounting principles
  • Basic knowledge of financial analysis
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful, demonstrate business acumen, creative thinking skills and be able to act as a decision maker.
  • Maintain confidentiality of personnel and payroll information
Education
  • BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.
  • Finance or Accounting.
Compensation/Benefits

Offers are typically made between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on skills, experience, and internal equity. In rare cases, highly qualified candidates may receive an offer above the midpoint; however, offers at the maximum of the range are not customary. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, experience and performance. Base salary is one component of OSI’s overall total rewards package. Work Environment
  • Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role).
  • Work conditions are typical of an office & plant environment.
  • This role does not require any domestic travel
  • Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 15 pounds
  • Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
  • Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Less than 4 hours.
