Cost Accountant — Full-time | On-site

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for performing advanced cost accounting analyses, preparing accurate budget reports, and providing insights to help improve operational efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively with production, sales, and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and maintain cost information in a centralized database.
• Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production reporting systems.
• Collaborate with production teams to review, improve, and validate reporting accuracy.
• Establish and enhance systems and procedures for cost accumulation and accounting functions.
• Identify and record fixed costs (e.g., salaries, rent, insurance).
• Predict, plan, and track variable costs, including raw materials, labor, and operational expenses.
• Review and analyze actual costs versus estimates, identifying discrepancies and areas for improvement.
• Prepare detailed departmental and company-wide budget reports.
• Monitor and report on actual profit margins.
• Partner with the Sales team to prepare customer quotes based on ERP system cost data.
• Develop and present customer/item margin reporting for senior leadership.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Recommend cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Provide product sample costs to support Marketing and General Accounting.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the CFO.

• Regular presence on the production floor to gather and validate cost data.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
