Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking a Cost Accountant to develop standard costs, analyze manufacturing costs, and provide actionable insights for efficiency and profitability. You will report to the Plant Controller and partner with plant operations and division finance to support monthly close and reporting.

The role requires strong analytical skills, Excel proficiency, and experience with SAP/ERP systems. This is an onsite role with collaboration across departments in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years in accounting or finance; manufacturing a plus.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and analytical skills.
• Proficient Excel with pivot tables and formulas.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costs for annual revaluation and daily setup of new materials.
• Align direct material pricing, freight, labor hours, and setup times with planning and production teams.
• Compile labor and manufacturing spend reports and run monthly target reviews.
• Analyze production cost variances and support improvements with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare and post accounting journal entries for monthly close.
• Support inventory cycle counts and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and process improvements for data reliability.

Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Job Summary

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for developing and maintaining standard costing, analyzing manufacturing costs, and providing actionable insights to improve efficiency and profitability. Reporting directly to the Plant Controller, the role is a critical partner to the plant operations team and the division Finance team in financial and management reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costs for annual revaluation as well as daily regular setup of new materials with a focus on analytical cost savings opportunities
• Ensure alignment with planning, sourcing, and production teams on direct material pricing, freight, direct labor hours, machine hours, setup times, and other inputs relevant to the accurate valuation of inventory
• Compile labor and manufacturing spend reports daily, weekly, or monthly for team use and facilitate regular meetings with department leads to identify risks and opportunities in achieving monthly targets
• Analyze production cost variances to understand drivers of favorability or unfavorability. Work with other teams to correct any transactional errors and support follow-up actions addressing improvements.
• Prepare and post all accounting journal entries as part of the monthly closing cycle
• Support inventory cycle counts and site balance sheet reconciliation preparation
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Identify and implement process improvements that promote efficient, accurate, reliable, and meaningful use of information for all business partners

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance role, a Manufacturing setting is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to organize data efficiently and effectively, including comfortable use of pivot tables, reference formulas, and basic troubleshooting.
• Prior use of SAP or other ERP systems is preferred. Basic computer literacy and proficiency navigating/learning new software systems is required.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
