Job summary

ESAB Corporation in Denton, TX is seeking a Cost Accountant to partner with operations and drive cost transparency. Reporting to the Plant Controller, this role analyzes manufacturing costs, supports standard costing, and enhances cost reporting across the plant.

The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with internal controls while contributing to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Strong costing, inventory management, and variance analysis skills.
• Proficiency in SAP or Oracle and advanced Excel.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory valuation.
• Prepare and maintain standard cost models and cost roll-ups.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to cost accounting.
• Conduct margin analysis to inform pricing and profitability strategies.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting for cost and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Participate in ERP system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

We’re looking to hire a talented Cost Accountant based in Denton, TX.

Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Cost Accountant plays a critical role in driving financial transparency and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing cost reports, and partnering with cross-functional teams to optimize cost structures. Primary Duties

• Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory valuation.
• Prepare and maintain standard cost models and cost roll-ups.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes related to cost accounting.
• Conduct margin analysis and provide insights to support pricing and profitability strategies.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to cost and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting policies.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and ERP system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

• Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time; may involve walking, stooping, and standing.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
