Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is hiring a Cost Accountant for our Clinton, IL plant to ensure margins are reported correctly and to monitor inventory for raw materials and finished goods.

The role involves maintaining material master records, analyzing costs, reconciling variances, and assisting with month-end closing and IT asset activities. Compensation includes a wide benefits package and a salary range of $72,000 to $92,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or 2 years related experience.
• Knowledge of SAP, Standard Costing, and Plant Labor Absorption helpful.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office products.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to handle variables in standard situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain material master records for Purchased and Manufactured parts.
• Work with purchasing and planning on cost issues.
• Analyze and update freight costs on purchased parts.
• Reconcile Purchase Price and Manufacturing variances.
• Assist with process improvements with the controller.
• Conduct quarterly costing reviews and cost analyses.
• Audit and tag Fixed Assets as necessary.
• Reconcile expenses and balance sheet accounts.
• Be a key member of Physical Inventory.
• Assist Accounts Payable vouchering and month-end journal entries.
• Support special projects and IT asset accountability.

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is looking to hire a Cost Accountant for our plant located in Clinton, IL. The Cost Accountant position will provide support to ensure product margins are being reported correctly as well as monitoring and tracking the inventory for raw materials and finished goods within the manufacturing facility.

What you’ll do:

• Maintain material master records for all Purchased and Manufactured parts.
• Work closely with purchasing and planning.
• Analyze, track and update freight costs on all purchased parts.
• Reconcile and analyzes Purchase Price and Manufacturing variances.
• Work with controller on process improvements.
• Responsible for conducting quarterly costing reviews and cost analysis updates.
• Audit and tag Fixed Assets as necessary.
• Reconcile and analyze expenses.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Key member of Physical Inventory.
• Assist with Accounts Payable vouchering.
• Create month end Journal Entries.
• Assists with special projects, as necessary.
• Maintain site information technology asset accountability and modernization.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.
• Analyze month-end and year-end reports to identify and recommend cost-effective improvements

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of SAP, Standard Costing, and Plant Labor Absorption helpful.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office products
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
