Qualifications

• Current Cosmetology License in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Cosmetology Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging laboratory and clinic instruction that prepares students for successful careers in cosmetology. This role provides hands-on technical training, evaluates student progress, promotes professionalism, and fosters a positive learning environment that supports student success and career readiness.

• Deliver laboratory and clinic instruction in accordance with the approved curriculum.
• Teach cosmetology safety, sanitation, infection control, and state board requirements.
• Demonstrate haircutting, hairstyling, hair coloring, chemical texture services, skincare, nail care, makeup application, and other cosmetology techniques.
• Supervise students while performing services in the student salon and provide coaching to develop technical skills and professionalism.
• Evaluate student performance through practical assessments, assignments, quizzes, and examinations.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student progress records.
• Prepare students for state licensure examinations and successful employment in the beauty industry.
• Foster professionalism, customer service, communication, and workplace readiness.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and sanitary instructional environment.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, state board regulations, and safety requirements.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, student activities, and campus events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
