Job summary

DriveTime is seeking a skilled automotive reconditioning technician to overhaul, rebuild, and renovate vehicles to DriveTime standards, ensuring exterior presentation meets our high-quality benchmarks.

You will inspect cosmetic repairs, perform glass work, operate and maintain tools, log daily performance, and collaborate with management to meet throughput, efficiency and safety targets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; certificate or associate degree in automotive technology or 2+ years automotive repair experience.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and identify cosmetic repairs according to DriveTime standards and tools.
• Complete glass repairs as necessary and review work with lead/supervisor.
• Use, store, and maintain equipment properly.
• Perform other duties; maintain daily performance logs and review with the Reconditioning Center GM.
• Achieve goals for throughput, efficiency and quality.
• Establish consistency among cosmetic associates and technicians by upholding DT standards.
• Review and communicate issues with Cosmetic Associate, Reconditioning Manager and ICGM.
• Conduct daily area inspections to keep workstations clean and safe.
• Project a positive DriveTime image and support a professional work environment.
• Maintain workstation performance while adhering to DriveTime policies and integrity.

Responsibilities of the Job (Or Better Known as, Your Next Destination)

Responsible fora variety of tasks that will overhaul, rebuild, and renovate the vehicle to bring the condition of the exterior back to a presentable condition.

• Inspect and identify various needed cosmetic repairs using DriveTime standards and tools.
• Complete glass repairs as necessary and review all completed work with lead/supervisor.
• Use, store, and maintain equipment properly.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain a daily performance logs and review with the Reconditioning Center General Manager
• Achieve the established goal for throughput, efficiency and quality
• Establish consistency among cosmetic associates and technicians by adhering, enforcing and promoting DT Standards
• Review and communicate all issues with the appropriate Cosmetic Associate, Reconditioning Manager and ICGM
• Perform daily area inspections to ensure Cosmetic Associates are keeping clean and safe workstations
• Portray a positive image of DriveTime and actively participate in the creation of a positive, professional work environment
• Maintain workstation performance while adhering to DriveTime guidelines, policies and practices and acting ethically and with integrity at all times and with all employees.

• Must be able to trouble shoot basic automotive concerns.
• Must be able to communicate the causes and recommended corrections for vehicle issue.

• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Physical Requirements

The Physical demands described within are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.

• Requires standing for extended period of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
• Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
• Requires some driving and frequent typing.
• Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.

Must be able to communicate in English to ensure effective performance of the position in a safety-sensitive/technical environment.
