Job summary

Colonial Group in Massillon, OH is seeking a production helper responsible for prepping machines for production runs, cleaning equipment daily, and ensuring pads and shipping readiness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works as part of the production crew with a main focus on preparing the machine for the production run, according to the customer order.
• Cleans the machine daily.
• Orders pads from the Forklift Driver, according to the need expressed on the schedule.
• Responsible for having pads at the machine for the finished products.
• Assists with running orders when the machine is ready by watching the run continue smoothly and without problem. If a problem arises, such as machine failure, product quality is not to standard, or a shortage of paper, this individual notifies the operator of the problem. May need to work with management, maintenance, and other company employees to fix the problem.
• Prepares the product according to the shop card and/or in a manner suitable for shipping.
• May be required to feed the machine on occasion.
• Works with various production machines and basic tools.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Verifiable work history for past 12 months.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, such as schedules and orders.
• Must be willing to work overtime on short notice, including weekends
• Ability to work in manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy Forklift traffic.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 + year of experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.
