Job summary

EQT Corporation in Canonsburg, PA is seeking a Corrosion Engineer to lead internal corrosion programs across pipelines and facilities. You will develop and enforce control measures, monitor corrosion, and guide data-driven mitigation actions in collaboration with field teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 2+ years of corrosion control experience with emphasis on internal corrosion control.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • Successful completion of Operator Qualification (OQ) training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures for internal corrosion control program.
  • Oversee corrosion coupon monitoring program, including location selection and data analysis.
  • Implement internal corrosion monitoring programs and corrective actions based on risk analysis.
  • Develop chemical treatment plans for pipelines and facilities.
  • Inspect facilities for internal corrosion at compressor stations and interconnects.
  • Analyze samples to determine internal corrosion risk.
  • Support field technicians with advanced troubleshooting of internal corrosion.
  • Assist with Integrity Management Program through field analysis and risk mitigation for time-dependent threats.
  • Prepare for and participate in DOT 192 and DOT 195 audits.
  • Collaborate with integrity management, operations, and engineering to prioritize mitigation and asset protection.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to assess program effectiveness and identify higher-risk areas.
  • Maintain corrosion records and regulatory documentation for audits and inspections.

The Corrosion Engineering responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures for internal corrosion control program
  • Oversee corrosion coupon monitoring program, including location selection and data analysis
  • Implement internal corrosion monitoring programs and develop corrective actions to mitigate corrosion threats based on risk analysis
  • Develop chemical treatment plans for pipelines and facilities
  • Develop and implement facility inspection program for internal corrosion on compressor stations, interconnects, or other EQT facilities
  • Analyze gas, liquid, and solid samples to determine internal corrosion risk
  • Support field technicians with advanced troubleshooting of internal corrosion
  • Work with the Integrity Management department to assist with implementation of Integrity Management Program through field analysis of pipeline anomalies and developing risk mitigation measure for time dependent threats
  • Prepare for and participate in DOT 192 and DOT 195 state and federal audits
  • Collaborate with integrity management, operations, and engineering teams to prioritize mitigation and long-term asset protection strategies.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to assess program effectiveness and identify areas of higher risk
  • Maintain corrosion records and regulatory documentation for audits and inspections.
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited engineering college or university
  • 2+ years of corrosion control related experience with an emphasis on internal corrosion control
  • Valid Driver's License and able to operate a company vehicle
  • Successful completion of applicable Operator Qualification training
  • Knowledge of basic engineering concepts, fundamentals and theory
  • Working knowledge of computer software packages and equipment
  • Working knowledge of CFR 49 Part 192 and/or Part 195
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • At times, this role requires both planned and unplanned travel to field and other EQT locations. There may be instances when travel is necessary outside of the core working hours. As a result, the incumbent must be able to work flexible hours and travel to our various operating locations as necessary
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Knowledge of pipeline defect assessment methods
  • Experience with EAM software such as Maximo
  • PSM Mechanical Integrity experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • PE Certification preferred
  • AMPP Cathodic Protection Technician (CP2) or Internal Corrosion for Pipeline 2
