eTeam seeks a Corrosion Engineer for a 12-month engagement in Kokomo, IN. The role focuses on cathodic protection design, field testing, and project coordination across multiple sites.

The candidate will review P&IDs, create drawings for rectifiers and test stations, conduct site verifications, and assist with commissioning efforts while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2-year engineering/technical degree or equivalent experience (4+ years preferred).
  • 3–5 years of cathodic protection field testing and design experience.
  • Understanding of CUI and NDE techniques (UT, RT, PT, AUT, PAUT, RTR).
  • Ability to review P&IDs and engineering drawings.
  • Experience managing projects and balancing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and travel overnight as needed.
  • Comfort with field visits, site verification, and design input.

Responsibilities

  • Project design review and verification of inclusion in design.
  • Create sketches and drawings for rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and features.
  • Coordinate with Major Projects Group and internal projects.
  • Attend project meetings to provide input and answer questions.
  • Perform site visits and final walkdowns for verification.
  • Conduct testing for design verification: soil potential, resistivity, CI surveys.
  • Coordinate with commissioning contractor for troubleshooting.
  • Analyze commissioning data for abnormalities and follow up.
  • Maintain field test equipment in good operating condition.
  • Assist pipeline commissioning efforts including moisture and odorant monitoring.

Job description

Title: Corrosion Engineer

Duration: 12 months

Qualifications:
  • 1. NACE/AMPP Cathodic Protection Level 2 (CP2) Certification
  • 2. 2-year Engineering or Technical degree (4+ years preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 3. Minimum 3-5 years of cathodic protection field testing & design experience
  • 4. Possess a good understanding of Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) and NDE techniques and applications (UT, RT, PT, AUT, PAUT, RTR)
  • 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 6. Experience reviewing and interpreting job/project packages (P&IDs, equipment drawings, engineering drawings, etc.)
  • 7. Experience managing projects & balancing multiple task simultaneously
  • 8. Ability to drive, stand, walk, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, twist, type on a computer, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • 9. Must be able to travel overnight to customer sites during the week, as well as for a few days at a time when needed; travel by automobile
Responsibilities:
  • 1. Project Design Review, including specifying requirements & verification of inclusion in design
  • 2. Create sketches & drawings for rectifiers, anodes, test stations, & other features for new & existing facilities
  • 3. Assist with coordination with Major Projects Group as well as internal Department projects
  • 4. Attend project meetings for updates, to provide input, & be available for questions that arise
  • 5. Site visits & verification, including during pre-construction/design, during construction, & final walkdown
  • 6. Perform testing as need for design & verification purposed, including soil potential, soil resistivity, current cathodic protection facilities, close interval surveys, etc.
  • 7. Coordinate with cathodic protection commissioning contractor to answer questions & assist with troubleshooting efforts
  • 8. Analyze data from commissioning contractor for abnormalities & follow up as needed
  • 9. Maintain provided field test equipment, ensuring good operating condition and rendering minor repairs
  • 10. Assist with pipeline commissioning efforts as approved by leader, including moisture & odorant monitoring.
  • 11. Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, perform arithmetic calculations, apply basic math concepts, solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists, and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • 12. 11. Pre-review all deliverables to ensure corrosion processes and principles are applied to Client standards and best practices
