The position requires interpreting guidance, coordinating with program offices, and ensuring responses are accurate, compliant, and timely.

Job description

This position is located in the Office of the Administrator, Executive Secretariat. The ideal candidate for this position will assist in establishing, updating, and applying guidelines and procedures relating to Congressional, White House, DHS, and FEMA correspondence. They will also serve as a point of contact among assigned offices to support timely completion of controlled correspondence.

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Recommending improvements to enhance the quality and timeliness of priority correspondence and Applying in-depth knowledge of guidelines and procedures related to priority correspondence to evaluate existing processes. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Independently composing responses to general and moderately complex inquiries, or forwards materials with background information, guidance, and recommended actions when another office is responsible. AND Routing correspondence to appropriate program offices and identifying required coordination, review, and clearance actions.
