CAP implementation Specialist

The CAP implementation specialist reports directly to the Procedure Manager and will fill one or more of the following roles to support the Natrium Demonstration Project (NDP) based on qualifications and experience. The Corrective Action Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Kemmerer Power Station (KPS) Corrective Action Program including analyzing corrective action data and utilizing the data to understand causes for quality, safety, and business process impacts. The ideal candidate will have experience in issue identification, resolution, categorization, cause analysis, preventive action, and trend analysis. The successful candidate will integrate and coordinate with other departments, project partners, regulators, and outside organizations working on procedure development.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a plan for configuring and implementing the Kemmerer Power Station (KPS) CAP software.
  • Develop and maintain processes and standards for the KPS corrective action program.
  • Coordinate with other departments for cross-discipline support of software and CAP development.
  • Use smart procedures or other software-based support tools to develop and maintain the Corrective Action Program.
  • Consider and integrate use of cross‑trained resources in Software development to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Identify existing industry guidance for processes that can be adopted with minimal modifications to meet KPS goals.
  • Use industry practices to develop high‑quality procedures which minimize risk of safety or human performance events.
  • Engage with industry peers, 3rd‑party vendors, NEI, EPRI, and other organizations to find innovative methods and technologies for developing and using software and AI in the Corrective Action Program.
  • Ensure Corrective Action Program in Software complies with company standards, NRC regulations, and other codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the Corrective Action Program by monitoring, tracking and identifying trends for corrective action data to provide performance improvements.
  • Develop and maintain status reports as directed.
  • Facilitate CAP/PI screening committee meetings.
  • Coordinate and participate in self‑assessments, critiques, and benchmarking activities.
  • Manage and maintain the operating experience program.
  • Monitor and maintain the site performance indicators.
Discipline‑Specific Education and Experience
  • 5 years' experience in working in the development and management of software‑based corrective action program with at least 3 years' experience specific to Software.
  • 5 years' experience with implementing or using a Nuclear Corrective Action Program.
Key Qualifications and Skills
  • High level of knowledge of nuclear power plant systems and terminology.
  • Prior experience in Corrective Action programs.
  • Experience with interpreting relevant nuclear information and standards in strict procedural and regulatory compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with smart procedures or other software‑based procedure tools.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and aspiration for procedural excellence.
  • Self‑starter who can develop innovative solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Cause analysis training and/or certification.
  • Possess a high degree of trust and integrity, openly communicate, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
  • Understand how individual actions and decisions can positively and negatively affect the ability of the total organization to meet its requirements with regulatory agencies and the public.
  • Adapt well to emergent changes due to changes in plant design, plant procedures, schedule changes, or other challenges associated with the design, construction, and commissioning of a new nuclear power plant.

This position is subject to qualification requirements in accordance with ANSI/ANS 3.1. Candidates must meet the minimum education and experience criteria applicable to the role, including relevant nuclear industry experience where required. Verification of data will be part of the hiring process.

Job Functions

Salary Range: $99,054 – $148,582 (specific to Wyoming). We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual's qualifications and experience.
