Job summary

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions, is seeking a Corrections Recreation Program Supervisor to oversee offender recreation activities within a large institution in Pewee Valley, KY. The role requires planning, coordinating, and directing a wide range of recreational opportunities for offenders, while collaborating with the Warden and other staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Three years of experience in planned recreation, physical education, or related activities.
Education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis. Military experience may substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Plans, directs, and coordinates recreational activities to meet needs of inmates in a large facility.
Consults with institutional staff in planning recreational programs for all residents.
Prepares budgets, reports, and other documentation as required.
Orders recreational equipment and supplies to meet institutional needs.
Keeps maintenance records on recreational equipment.
Prepares staffing schedules, reports staff attendance, and completes staff evaluations.
Attends meetings and completes training to meet institutional needs.
