Job summary

The Colorado Department of Corrections is seeking a Psychologist Candidate to provide professional psychological services to inmates under supervision and to assist with clinical assessment and therapy. This role supports compliance with Mental Health Clinical Standards and contributes to staff training on mental health needs.

The Psychologist Candidate permit is required, with licensure pursued during the 4-year period.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Psychologist Candidate permit from the Colorado State Board of Psychologist Examiners.
• Experience with mental health services in high-stress environments is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and document in plain language.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychological services to inmates under supervision.
• Conduct assessments, individual and group therapy.
• Train staff on mental health needs and procedures.
• Participate in 24-hour Mental Health On-Call Rotation.
