Qualifications

• Possession of a current Pharmacy Technician Certificate from the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.
• Pharmacy technician certification and strong attention to detail are required.

Responsibilities

• Verify information on prescriptions is complete and accurate.
• Fill and dispense all prescriptions received by the Pharmacy Department.
• Sort and route all filled medications to the appropriate locations at LSP, DCI, and RLCC.
• Pre-package commonly prescribed medications using pill packaging equipment and/or manual methods.
• Package individual prescriptions for dispensing by a licensed Pharmacist.
• Work with adult male inmates of all custody levels – minimum, medium, maximum (death row), and protective custody.
