Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking motivated individuals for the role of Correctional Officer at a Lexington facility. You will contribute to safety and security by enforcing rules and working as part of a team to manage inmates and daily operations.

Applicants must meet state and federal firearms requirements. Medical cannabis prohibition applies. Locality and shift premiums apply, with overtime eligibility and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• No prior experience required.
• Must meet all state and federal laws related to firearms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security by enforcing rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Supervise inmate activities in housing, dining, recreation and work areas.
• Attend to medical, visitation, personal property, and recreational needs of inmates.
• Inspect and patrol grounds for contraband, unauthorized personnel, and other security risks.
• Complete required reports and daily logs.
• Conduct inmate counts, security rounds, and searches.
