Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass psychological tests, a background investigation, a post-offer health screen, urinalysis, and new-employee training.
• Some positions may require a Commercial Driver's License and endorsements within a set time.

Responsibilities

• Observe incarcerated individuals and document observations to ensure security and consistent policy application.
• Interact with incarcerated individuals to promote problem-solving and behavior change.
• Patrol facilities, conduct rounds and counts, inspect areas for safety and security deficiencies.
• Search incarcerated individuals, vehicles, packages, and property for contraband.
• Instruct incarcerated individuals on rules, policies, and pro-social development.
• Escort individuals, visitors, and staff and verify passes or documents.
• Maintain logs and reports and enter data into the corrections system.
• Supervise work assignments and evaluate performance.
• Operate doors, radios, alarms, and other security equipment.
• Attend training and professional development classes.
