Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a lead Corrections Officer to supervise subordinate officers in the custody and control of inmates at SCI Houtzdale. The role requires directing staff, ensuring security, and responding to emergencies while adhering to training and policy.

This position performs lead work over subordinate Corrections Officers or other specialized work in the care, custody and control of inmates.
Work Schedule: To be determined. Selected applicant will work a 40-hour work week; this is shift work with rotating days off.
Distribution: This posting is restricted to current employees working at SCI Houtzdale only who successfully took the Corrections Officers 2 exam and received a test score.
This position is eligible for retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
This position is not eligible for telework.
Directs subordinate Corrections Officers or performs other specialized work involving the custody, supervisions and non-professional counseling of inmates on an assigned shift. Ensures security is maintained within an assigned area.
