Job summary

The Bureau of Prisons is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor to oversee construction, repair, maintenance and inspection of housing units and buildings, with supervision of civilian journeyman supervisors and an inmate workforce.

This role requires CTAP eligibility, U.S. citizenship, and completion of required training; geographic relocation and security clearances are part of the position.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise and lead inmate workforce.
• Aptitude for work with prisoners.
• Career Transition Programs (CTAP) eligibility criteria.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Successful completion of required training (Glynco, GA).

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor with responsibilities including construction, repair, maintenance and inspection of all inside and outside housing units and buildings.
• Provides supervision to civilian journeyman level supervisors who in turn supervise an inmate workforce.
