Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide general and emergency nursing care to adults and children in custody within a Corrections facility. The role operates in the Medical and Ambulatory sections while upholding security standards.

Applicants should hold a current Practical Nursing License, have at least one year in corrections preferred, and meet health and safety requirements including CPR and TB screening as applicable.

Qualifications

• Possesses a current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state.
• Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide general and emergency nursing care to adults and children in custody.
• Work in the Medical and Ambulatory section while maintaining facility security standards.
• Maintain daily contact with residents and respond to urgent health needs.

Job description

The Corrections Licensed Practical Nurse works in close and immediate contact with adults and children in custody on a daily basis providing general and emergency nursing care in the Medical and Ambulatory section of the Corrections Facility while maintaining facility security standards.
