Job Duties:

• Makes daily assignments to subordinate officers to insure adequate security at each post.
• Conducts on the job training making certain officers understand duties and responsibilities.
• Councils staff and offenders in daily situational problems that could affect the Institution in an adverse manner.

Work Environment:

• Employee will work with Inmates and Security Staff.
• Employee will work for Corrections Captain.
• Employee will supervise Master Sergeants, Sergeants, and Cadet

Position-Specific Details

Appointment Type: DETAIL OF A permanent, classified employee ofLA DPS&C - CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC)

• An employee selected for detail may be permanently promoted to this position if a position becomes available.

Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $26.79 per hour.

There is ‘Premium Pay’ for this position: A rate between $.50 an hour and $1.00 an hour for each hour worked based on years of service with DOC, in addition to regular pay.
