Job summary

Aramark in Florida is seeking a Corrections Oversight Worker to supervise inmates in meal preparation, train staff, and coordinate work to keep operations efficient and safe.

You will ensure sanitation, adhere to HACCP standards, and uphold security policies while directing staff and inmates in following recipes and portions.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork in a correctional facility, with opportunities to improve processes and contribute to daily meal service.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Minimum of one year of food prep or related work preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous experience interacting with inmates a plus.
• Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a correctional work environment.
• Must be able to obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and tact.
• Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and policies.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain prep and production guidelines; review and approve logs.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and compliance with Aramark guidelines.
• Participate in preparation and serving of meals.
• Print and distribute recipes.
• Direct inmates in use of Aramark recipes and train on cooking procedures.
• Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are fulfilled.
• Obtain accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
• Adhere to security policies; keep storage areas locked.
• Ensure kitchen tools/equipment are returned; secure keys.
• Determine work procedures and schedules; ensure adherence by staff.
• Assist in inventory, receiving and storing food; requisition orders as needed.
• Participate in the 5 P’s: Participation, Pulls, Production, Portion Control, and Postproduction.
• Follow SOP for food handling; HACCP compliance.
