Job summary

The Bureau of Prisons seeks corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

The position requires initial and ongoing qualifications for pharmacy technician roles, including specialized experience, graduate education, and the selective placement factor; all applicants must provide evidence of program completion with their resume.

Qualifications

• One-year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level; includes support duties to medical personnel.
• Graduate education or internship meets specialized experience only when related to the work of the position.
• Experience examples: inventories of needles, syringes, controlled substances; preparing medications for pharmacist review; reporting adverse medication reactions; administering medications.
• Combination of education and experience acceptable for all grade levels.
• Selective Placement Factor: completion of nursing assistant, medical assistant, pharmacy technician, vocational/practical nursing, or EMT programs; licensure/certification required if applicable.
