Job summary

As a cadet, you will receive POST Training Academy instruction on laws, leadership, communication, fitness, and defensive tactics, then advance to certified POST status and a career in law enforcement with growth

Qualifications

• Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 19 years old by date of hire.
• Must be a resident of Utah at hire.
• Must possess a valid Utah driver’s license at hire.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must not have any disqualifying criminal history.

Responsibilities

• Provide law enforcement duties outside and tactical responses inside.
• Learn defensive tactics and de-escalation techniques to keep yourself and others safe.
• Housing prisoners, processing new arrestees, and responding to emergencies.
• Grow and advance within the Sheriff’s Office through training and experience.
