Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems is seeking a Counselor at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution in Shirley, MA. The role involves delivering education in an approved curriculum, documenting case records, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support inmate education.

Qualifications include a BA/MA or two years of related experience in criminal justice, human services, or education. DOC experience or alcohol/drug certification is preferred.

• DOC experience and/or Alcohol/Drug certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all inmates are provided with education in the assigned curriculum approved by the Department of Correction and are responsible for written documentation in the case records.
• Participating in a multi-disciplinary team meeting on a weekly basis or as directed.
• Working the hours required to meet the business needs of the organization including the ability to work more than 40 hours in a work week which may include evening and weekend programming.
