Job summary

UTMB Health in Dallas/Hutchins State Jail seeks a Texas Certified Medication Aide to support patient care within a secure facility, assisting with hygiene, rest, nourishment, and medication distribution under nursing supervision. This is a non-benefit eligible, hourly paid position limited to a maximum of 19 hours per week.

You will collect vital signs, document data, maintain safety, and ensure compliance with Title 40 TAC Chapter 95, while assisting with medication administration and daily

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Texas CMA permit and be eligible to work in a prison setting.
• Ability to collect vital signs, measure I&O, and document data accurately.
• Capable of assisting with hygiene, mobility, feeding, and medication distribution.

Responsibilities

• Collects and documents data: vital signs, intake/output, measurements.
• Assists with patient activities and care as ordered by nursing staff.
• Provides personal hygiene support and mobility assistance as needed.
• Maintains safe environment and proper storage of medications and supplies.
• Distributes and documents medications per policy and Title 40 TAC.
• Ensures drug room security and maintains equipment.
• Accurately enter medication compliance into the pharmacy system.
• Participates in in-service education and ACA standards.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structures.
