The Captain, Adult Institution at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, Amador County, California, is a senior leadership role responsible for custodial management and staff supervision within the facility.

New to State candidates will start at the minimum of the classification or revised alternate range; the position offers a permanent, full-time appointment with in-office work and benefits consistent with state employment.

• Must meet Minimum Qualifications as per Class Specification.

• Under the general direction of the Correctional Administrator, Central Operations, the Captain is responsible for the overall custodial management of Operations and supervision of staff assigned.
• Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
• Salaries do not reflect the recent changes under PLP 2025 which reduces pay for five hours monthly through June 2027.
