Qualifications

• Minimum age 20 years.
• 30 semester hours from an accredited college or university or high school diploma/GED with approved training.
• 24 months of correctional or security work experience.
• Valid driver’s license required; conditional travel.
• GED completion may be required per state standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides security and supervision to inmates in various situations and activities.
• Supervises inmate work crews; escorts inmates to work sites; inventories and controls equipment, weapons, tools, and keys.
• Patrols yards, cells, corridors, and work areas; observes inmate movements; manages conduct and discipline.
• Maintains order in programs, meals, and recreation; inspects living areas for contraband; documents incidents.
