As a Correctional Sergeant at the Flathead Valley Re‑Entry Center, you will play a vital part in maintaining the safety, security, and integrity of a facility dedicated to helping individuals successfully return to the community.
In this role, you will oversee daily security operations, guide and support security staff, and ensure the facility functions smoothly and responsibly. The Sergeant is entrusted with protecting the public, upholding secure practices, and supporting treatment and rehabilitation efforts for the offender population. This position blends hands‑on security work with key administrative responsibilities—offering both challenge and purpose every single day.

This position requires POST Basic Certification after attending training at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy and successfully completing one year of employment with the Department of Corrections. In addition to the training and experience requirements, to be POST Certified, the successful candidate(s) must:
