Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have an active CA Psychiatrist License.
• Correctional/mental health setting experience preferred.
• Ability to perform face-to-face interviews in inmate housing units.

Responsibilities

• Provide extensive psychiatric services under clinical direction.
• Meet with inmate patients for crisis interventions and interviews at cell fronts.
• Conduct initial mental health evaluations and assess inmate needs.
• Perform clinically sound suicide risk evaluations and document progress notes.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) meetings.
• Prescribe medication and monitor treatment per clinical protocols.
