Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• 18 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or GED.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Tattoos must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head.
• Must pass a medical assessment.
• Must successfully complete the Correctional Officer Basic Certification Course within six months of placement into the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide security, custody and control of inmates in a correctional setting.
• Instruct and direct inmates assigned to various work details.
• Maintain inmate counts and daily logs; prepare and submit reports.
• Maintain surveillance and search for contraband.
• Escort visitors and ensure inmates receive prescribed treatment.
