Job summary

The State of Indiana is seeking a Correctional Officer at the Reception Diagnostic Center in Plainfield. You will work in a maximum-security facility, maintaining security and safety during 12-hour shifts and ensuring programs run on schedule.

Qualifications include being at least 18, possessing a valid driver’s license, and ability to work mandatory overtime up to 16 hours per day. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Veterans and law enforcement candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security and safety of staff and incarcerated individuals.
• Monitor assigned areas and oversee daily activities to ensure security.
• Follow security procedures and document incidents and movements.
• Escort incarcerated individuals to meals, work, and recreation areas.
• Handle incident reporting and conduct documentation as required.
